/panic
configurationClose the server now, and open it again afterwards.
What it does
Use it to close the server when something is happening, and to open it again afterwards. It silences every channel for @everyone and, if you want, pauses new joins and direct messages between members.
It never kicks, bans or deletes anything. Closing is reversible, so it buys time to look.
Example
/panic onServer closed
6 of 6 channel(s) silenced for @everyone. People can still read; nobody can post, react or join voice.
Roles are untouched
Your staff roles keep whatever they had, so moderators can still talk to each other.
Putting it back
/panic off. Every channel returns to exactly the state it was in.
Discord's own switches
New people cannot join.
Both lapse on their own after 60 minute(s).
Example reply in English. The numbers depend on your server.
Good to know
- You need the Manage Server permission.
- It closes text, announcement, forum, voice and stage channels. Reading stays open.
- It also sets a 30 second slowmode on text channels by default, and raises Discord's verification level to High if it was lower. Both go back when you open the server again.
- New joins are paused by default. Add the dms option to pause direct messages between members too.
- Set minutes, from 1 to 1440, and the server opens by itself.
- The blacklist option bans an account on sight if it ever joins. It does not ban anyone now.
